Tech : Why can't I cut the tape after printing a label on my Dymo Rhino label printer?

(Updated 5/27/2019)

Every time a label is cut, a tiny bit of residue from the label's adhesive may remain on the cutter blade. This is a normal occurrence when the Rhino Label Printer is used frequently. Sp, it is important to regularly clean the cutter blade in the cassette compartment with either the special brush delivered together with the Label Maker (located in tape compartment door) or a cotton tip swab and a soft solvent (e.g. alcohol).

To clean the cutter blade
1. Remove the label cassette.
2. Press and hold the cutter button to expose the cutter blade.
3. Use a cotton ball / tip and alcohol to clean both sides of the blade.
(The cutter blade is extremely sharp. Use caution when cleaning!)

If the solution above does not resolve the problem, check for tape path obstructions. If the problem persists, please contact us for Technical Support. There may be another simple solution, or you may need to obtain a Return number for your Rhino printer to be fixed / replaced.
