Tech : What do the error Messages on the RhinoPRO 5000 mean?

The following is a list of possible errors codes that you may see while using the RhinoPRO 5000. Error codes display for approximate 3 seconds then the RhinoPRO 5000 display reverts back to the data you originally entered. Afterwards you can edit the data entered to resolve the issue.

  • Error 01 - This will appear on the first line of the display. On the second line you will see: L = XXXX.X mm(or ") --> You have a fixed length label and the text that you have chosen is longer than the label. You will need to increase the length of the label or remove text.
  • Error 02 - This will appear on the first line of the display. On the second line you will see: BARCODE ERROR --> You are trying to print a bar code on tape that is 12mm / 1/2" or smaller. Use 19mm / 3/4" tape to print bar codes.
  • Error 03 - This will appear on the first line of the display. On the second line you will see: TOO MANY LINES --> You have too many lines of text for the label size and format selected. Remove a line and try again until this message no longer appears or change your format (i.e. font size, caps vs. no caps, etc.).
  • Error 04 - This will appear on the first line of the display. On the second line you will see: TAPE TOO SMALL --> You have a Label Width that is too small for the format that you have selected. This may be due to font sizes, caps, or any number of format settings that are available.
  • Error 06 - This will appear on the first line of the display. On the second line you will see: PRINT ERROR --> This error may appear if the On/Off button is pressed during printing, or the batteries are running low and you are printing a label with heavy inking requirements (such as bar codes with text, or a label with graphics).
  • Error 11 - This will appear on the first line of the display. On the second line you will see: TEXT TOO LONG --> You have text that is too long for the label format that you have chosen. This may occur with Wrap, PPanal or TBlock selected. You will have to reduce the number of characters on the label.
