Dymo LabelWriter Cleaning & Maintenance

Dymo LabelWriters are precision-built label printers, and they require little maintenance. The printhead on a Dymo LabelWriter is rated at 2 million inches and to help ensure that your LabelWriter lasts it's 2 million inches, Dymo recommends that you regularly clean the printhead on your LabelWriter to free it from dust and any build-up of glue - and you do this with Dymo Cleaning Cards

You may be asking what the cleaning card is made of and how it works. The answer is simple. The cleaning card measures approx 4.5" x 2.5" and is made of a synthetic cloth material which has been soaked in an alcohol solution. Using a cleaning card is simple. You remove it from the pack, feed it into your LabelWriter just like you would load a new roll of labels, then press the feed button. As the card feeds through your LabelWriter, the alcohol solution moistens and lifts any built-up dust or glue resins that are stuck on the printhead, and the cloth material captures the unwanted matter and removes it from the printhead.

Using these Cleaning Cards is not a mandatory requirement to keep your warranty intact, but in our 16 years experience in dealing with Dymo/CoStar LabelWriters, we recommend that this should be done once a month to keep your labelWriter healthy..... and at $8.90 for 10 cards (89c per card/month) it is cheap maintenance !
