Tip : Why are the margins on some Rhino tapes more pronounced than others?

Most DYMO RhinoPro and D1 tape printers require you to select the tape size using a cassette size selector switch, located in the tape cassette compartment.

The cassette size selector switch has up to three settings: 6 mm, 9/12 mm, and 19/24 mm.

There is no way for the printer to detect the difference between 9 mm tape and a 12 mm tape or between a 19 mm and a 24 mm tape.

To prevent damage to the tape cassette and burning through the ink ribbon, the printer defaults to the smaller size available, based on the selection made with the cassette size selector switch. So while the physical size of 12 mm and 24 mm tape is larger than 9 mm and 19 mm respectively, the height of the printed text is identical, producing larger margins on 12 mm and 24 mm tape.
