Tech : Print sequential labels on a Dymo LabelWriter

If you ever need to print a series of sequential labels, say for instance you need to label 100 boxes with a unique number, Dymo's free labelling software (DLS) will solve this problem.

Built into DLS is a feature called 'counter'. Basically, if you want to print 100 labels sequentially numbered from 1-100, you create a label with a counter, start it at number 1, tell the software you want to print 100 labels and 100 labels will be printed sequentially on your Dymo LabelWriter numbered from 1 - 100. There is no need for you to individually type in 1 then print, then 2 then print, then 3 then print, etc....

Within the counter feature you can actually setup a text string before the generated numbers (like 'Box #' or 'Item No.' or 'Visitor #' etc). You can also pre-define a text string after the numbers, you can dictate what number the counter starts at (it doesn't have to be 1) and you can even dictate the counter increment (you don't have to go 1-2-3... you can increment it by any value you choose, i.e. 1-3-5-7-9). Other configurable variables include font size and font weight, as well as background, vertical text and alignment/justification.

To use the counter feature, simply create a new label in the Dymo software (or use an existing template), click on the insert TAB and drag the 'counter' across to your label. Once the counter is on your label, double-click it and set it up the way you want it.

Dymo's FREE DLS software works with all Dymo LabelWriter desktop label printers, and you can use a counter on virtually any Dymo LabelWriter label size.
