Tip : Creating Flag Labels on the Rhino 6000 Label Printer
There are a number of ways to label wires and cables. You can use the Rhino heat shrink tubes (if you have a heat gun), or you can use Rhino flexible nylon labels and wrap them around your wire / cable so the text runs along it. Both of these options are the wise choice where you are limited for space. If you want a label that sticks out (literally) then your best bet is to use the Rhino 6000's built-in flag label feature.
Flag labels wrap around a wire or cable leaving the text part of the label extending out from the cable, making it very easy to read. The text on flag labels is automatically printed on both ends of the label leaving a blank space in the middle that wraps around the cable. When the label is applied to the cable, both ends of the label are applied back to back leaving a tail or flag. The result is a label that can be read from both sides.
One big advantage of the flag label is that you can use a variety of Dymo Rhino labels to create them. All of the following label types are suitable, and collectively offer a wide range of sizes and colors for your flag labels. You can use :
- Rhino Flexible Nylon Labels
- Rhino Permanent Polyester Labels or
- Rhino Vinyl Labels
To print a flag label......
- Press FLAG
- Enter the length for the flag portion of the label
- Select AUTO to have the length automatically set to fit the text. The total length of the label is calculated by doubling the flag length and adding 34 mm to wrap around the cable.
- Press OK to create the label
- Enter the text for the label and press PRINT
